Stephanie speaks
Stephanie's talk at William Mitchell
begins at 7 pm. Doors will open at 6 pm.
Here's where William
Mitchell is. Here's where the auditorium
is. William Mitchell is just one block north
of the Yarnery which is at Grand and
Victoria. Here's where the Yarnery
is.
Book signing afterward at the Yarnery from
8 pm to 10-ish.
If you want a book signed, be sure to pick up
a time-slip at William Mitchell when you come
in. So after the talk, we'll
walk/wheel/drive/hop
back to the Yarnery--just follow the crowd.
There's lots to do on Grand while you wait
your turn for the book signing.
Getting to the event
Taking the bus
For information about bus transit, visit
http://www.metrotransit.org/ or call (612)

Parking
Parking ramps are located at Grand and
Victoria, and Grand and Oxford. Many
businesses have free parking behind or
adjacent to their location. Street parking in
the nearby neighborhoods is mostly
permit-only, so read the parking signs to
avoid getting a ticket. Don't forget to
carpool if possible.
Where to stay
Mapquest
has great information about nearby hotels.
Just select "hotels" in the "Find Nearby"
drop-down list.
Shopping on Grand Avenue
The Victoria Crossing area offers some of the
most eclectic dining and unique shopping in
the Twin Cities—cozy cafes, ethnic
restaurants and interesting shops. The
always-busy Bibelot near Grand and Lexington
sells clothes, jewelry, books; Cooks on Grand has
an amazing selection of cooking supplies for
the gourmet; Red
Balloon is a great children's bookstore. Pick
up a gift for the kids or home. Just
kitty-corner from the Yarnery, check out the
Bead Monkey, which has a fabulous selection
of beads and Ten Thousand Villages, which
works with artisans from around the world.
Karma, across the street, is a boutique
offering unique clothing and accessories..
Dining on Grand Avenue
You'll find a dozen restaurants near the
shop: Cafe Latte (great salads, soups, etc
and don't miss the desserts, it's just 2
doors down), Axel's Bonfire Grill,
Chipotle, Bread and Chocolate, Dixie's, Saji
Ya, Barbary Fig, Acropol Inn. For dessert,
check out Grand Old Creamery for fabulous ice
cream. And don't forget the
coffee: Starbucks, Cafe Latte, Bread and
Chocolate, Caribou are all nearby.
