Thanks to those who have donated mittens for our Knitting Fairy project.
Thank you all for donating your time, yarn, and beautiful mittens. Just in time for the holidays, and the cold weather. St. Paul school children will be thrilled with your efforts.

Friday Knit Nights
Come join us at The Yarnery for a couple of hours of knitting fun. Bring a knitting project to work on and items to show, while you visit with friends you have met in classes. This is not a class or a clinic; it is a friendly, relaxing knitting time. The store will be closed to customers. Knit Nights are held the first and third Fridays of the month.
6:30-8:30 pm with Jane Kilian
6:30-8:30 pm with Jean Christensen
Felting Frenzy the third Friday of the Month
Try out our handy felting machine from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Please call the store to register for a time. Fee is $4 per half-hour time slot. Great for knitters who can't felt at home.
Knitting for others
Interested in joining other knitters as we make knit and crochet items for those in need? This year we will provide school kids in need of hats, mittens, and scarves.
If you would like to donate finished items or leftover yarn, the group members will knit it for you! Also, please feel free to drop off your hand-knit items at the store at any time.
Yarn and other fiber arts materials donated to the Yarnery are gratefully accepted. Staff members sort the items then pass them along to people and agencies helping others.
For instance, fibers more suitable for crocheting are given to the Ramsey County Women’s Detention Center, weaving type supplies are given to a group of immigrants learning weaving in the Cedar Riverside area of Minneapolis, some members of the Women’s Club knit chemo hats, scarves are knit by a woman who then donates them to the Tubman Family Alliance, children at area schools. Park and Rec departments use donated yarn and needles while they participate in knit clubs. Shawl knitters provide warmth to the Sheila's Shawls project. Kaput (Knitting and Purling Useful Things) group knits for Twin Cities' school kids.
Several more sites are helped with donations that come into the Yarnery. We appreciate having a continuous supply of these donated materials to fill community needs.
Thank you for past donations. Please keep this need in mind as you clean out stash and estate collections in the future. Presently, requests for supplies exceed what we have to give away, so more is always needed.
Donations welcome
We have many, many groups in need of yarn (wool, acrylic, blends, anything) or finished items, such as hats, mittens and scarves. Please help out if you can. Drop donations off at the shop.
